Smashing Pumpkins are in town to play a sold-out show at Webster Hall to celebrate the group's new LP, Monuments to an Elegy. If you don't have a ticket, there's another opportunity to grab the album: East Village tea cafe Physical GraffiTea (96 St Marks Pl) is offering folks a chance to buy the record a day early, as well as snatch up "limited-edition Smashing Pumpkins mugs, Christmas ornaments, lithographs and tea bundles," until 10pm tonight. Billy Corgan's own Illinois tea shop Madame ZuZu's will providing the beverages. (And yes, it's located in the same building featured on the Led Zeppelin album.) It seems like only a matter of time until Corgan, a documented animal lover, gets into the cat cafe business.
