Any New Yorker will tell you that the city's taquerias easily stand up to those in traditional Mexican strongholds like California and Texas. But while we've got our share of on-the-cheap street-cart tacos, we also have some of the steepest tortilla price tags in the country. So in celebration of National Taco Day this Sunday, we've hunted down some discounts and deals to save you some cash while satisfying your taco craving.

A.G. Kitchen: For one week starting Sunday, this Upper West Side spot will offer a three-taco platter for $18, with options ranging from chicken chicharrón to guajillo shrimp and pork belly, served with rice, beans, guacamole, pico de gallo and two types of salsa. Here's the clincher: throw in just an extra $3 for unlimited refills of your platter.

Black Tree BK: At the Brooklyn offshoot of this LES shop, chef Sandy Dee Hall breaks down a different whole animal each week to create the menu. On Sunday, get two tacos ($9) filled with beef from Finger Lakes Farm: an offal taco (braised beef tongue, heart ceviche) and a braised shoulder taco (buffalo yogurt, blueberry preserves).

Cantina Rooftop: Head to this Hell's Kitchen rooftop above Stage48 this Sunday for fiesta vibes fueled in part by free tequila shots with any order of tacos.

Don Chingon: From noon to 4pm, the Prospect Heights cantina will throw in one free taco for every taco platter ordered. Zesty fillings include marinated chicken, crispy pork, tempura-fried avocado and skirt steak.

Dos Caminos: At all New York locations of this modern Mexican mainstay, finish your meal with a one-day-only sweet churro taco served with a decadent Chiapas coffee ice cream ($9).

Fonda: On Sunday, get three tacos (chosen by the house) for just $5 at the East Village location of this contemporary Mexican eatery.

Kimchi Taco: At the brick-and-mortar location of this Mexican-Korean mashup, order any entree and get your choice of a $1 taco, including BBQ short rib, spicy seared pork, pomegranate veggie and krispy fish.

Taco Mix: In East Harlem, this beloved neighborhood taqueria will sling one-buck al pastor tacos from 8am to 11:59pm.
