Dogs and cats, living together! The spook-comedy Ghostbusters, now celebrating its 30th anniversary, has become a modern classic—one we have no problem celebrating. (Read our Q&A with director Ivan Reitman on the making of the movie.) Krispy Kreme is, well, Krispy Kreme. Again, no problems getting excited on this end. The latter will be commemorating the former with two special Ghostbusters donuts: a "Ghost Busters" and a "Stay Puft," both with a marshmallow-cream-filled shell topped with white icing and decorative sugar pieces.

The spooky donuts hit participating KKs on September 29th. You can even call in your order ahead of time, if you plan to buy five dozen or more. The restored movie, meanwhile, continues to play at Regal Union Square and the UA Court Street in Brooklyn Heights. It's also out on Blu-ray in a special edition.

As much as we love the looks of those two treats, we can help but speculate on a few more flavor possibilities (Krispy Kreme, call us):

The "I collect spores, molds and fungus" special: green icing of an alarmingly furry consistency.

The "I got slimed" surprise: totally translucent!

The "Alice, are you menstruating right now?"…okay, we’re not going there.
