Remember life before the dome?

Subway platforms weren’t oppressively hot, you didn’t sweat through every article of clothing you had on and simply standing outside didn’t feel like you were wearing a fur coat in a sauna. It was a simpler time.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory from 12pm today until 7pm on Saturday as well as an air quality alert through 11pm tonight. Saturday will have a high temperature of 94 degrees and Sunday will have a high of 93 degrees. In fact, we’re almost guaranteed to have a heat wave with temperatures expected to remain above 90 degrees through Tuesday.

So basically we’re in for a crazy hot few days.

The city offers official cooling stations if you need to escape the sun for a bit, and there are plenty of other ways that to stay cool in the city. Hit up one of New York’s best pools or indulge in a cold, creamy ice cream cone. Or you could always just spend the afternoon in a nice air-conditioned movie theater.
