On the same day that the United Nations made history by designating Wonder Woman as an Honorary Ambassador for the Empowerment of Women and Girls, NYC's Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park has announced a rather bold ambassadorship of their own. Starting on November 1, everyone's favorite ice skater with attitude, Johnny Weir, will serve as the park's first-ever Winter Village Ambassador.

What exactly does a Winter Village Ambassador do with one's time, you might ask if you are a sane human being. Apparently, the two-time Olympian and reality TV favorite will perform feats on ice throughout the season, serve as a creative consultant for the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony, and welcome guests to the park.

This year's Winter Village promises to have more colorful perks than ever, with UrbanSpace bringing in new retailers and vendors including Strand Book Store and Farm to People. The Village is open November 1–March 5, 8am–10pm, with special holiday shops through January 2nd.
