Legendary karaoke bar Winnie's will close at the end of March

New York's best dive bars continue to fade away (see: Smith's, Ding Dong Lounge, Rodeo Bar, Max Fish) and now Winnie's, Chinatown's karaoke landmark, will be the next to join them.

After a 28-year run on Bayard Street, the bar will shutter at the end of March. Reportedly, the building's landlord will be renting the space to a new tenant who is yet to be named. Those looking to get their last rounds of eight-liquor Hawaiian Punch and belting out the best karaoke songs—like "Billie Jean" and "Love Shack"—should do so soon. The sing-alongs are still running every day at 8pm, but if you can't get over there before the end of next month, you can check out our list of the city's best karaoke bars.
