Was it only five years ago—specifically June 24, 2011—that Williamburg's Nitehawk Cinema (136 Metropolitan Ave) opened its doors? Ah, we remember when. The concept of enjoying a full meal (on an actual plate!) while a movie is playing in front of you is still a young one. And to celebrate its anniversary, Nitehawk is thanking its devoted clientele with $5 draft beers from tonight until Thursday, all day long. Raise a glass to the cinema that singlehandedly overturned the ancient New York state ban on consuming alcoholic beverages in movie theaters. And for the anniversary date itself, Friday 24? Free tater tots to all customers. We call that a serious display of gratitude. Here's a trailer that Nitehawk assembled for the occasion.
