New York is already home to art fairs such as Frieze New York and The Armory Show and this coming Thursday, it will host another: Artforo, the first ever fair devoted to artists who are either from the Dominican Republic or are of Dominican descent. The event will be held at the Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz Center on 3940 Broadway in Washington Heights, which is well-known for its dynamic Dominican community. Event organizer Oscar Abreu is also one of the participating artists, with the rest coming not only from the Dominican Republic and New York, but also from France, Mexico and Miami, Florida. The show runs through Saturday and tickets cost $10. You can find more details on Artforo’s website.
