It's a sad week for Kings County coffee nuts, as Park Slope's beloved cafe/neighborhood living room Tea Lounge will shut its doors on Sunday, December 14 due to high rents. Rumors of the closing started back in September, when husband-and-wife team Jonathan and Helen Spiel put the shop—known for its laptop-friendly, stay-a-while vibe and ratty, worn-in love seats—up for rent or sale.
But before you go mourning the loss of lattes and lemon-poppy loaf, there are still plenty of serviceable java joints nearby, including Gorilla Coffee, Hungry Ghost and Cafe Regular. And while you're at it, soothe your sorrows with the latest lattes, cappuccinos and pourovers in New York City.
