Photographer photoshops the New York out of New York buildings

The buildings shot by photographer Marc Yankus are instantly recognizable as being from New York: There’s the Flatiron Building, a loft building in Soho’s Cast-Iron District, and a Greenwich Village townhouse among other edifices. But they all seem a little off. That’s because while they're in New York, the familiar markers of the city—garbage, people, traffic—are missing. Yankus has Photoshopped those details out of his images to create a pristine vision of a New York unmarred by the usual hassles of daily life in Gotham. Check out some examples of his handiwork below, and imagine what it would be walking down streets where clean has replaced mean.
