Taste of the Terminal returns with free treats at Grand Central

What do New Yorkers love more than good food? That’s easy: Free stuff. The fourth annual Taste of the Terminal at Grand Central blends both together in perfect foodie bliss. Throughout April, Mondays will become commuters' favorite day of the week, as the terminal’s eateries and shops give out free samples, and special offers and live music come to Vanderbilt Hall. The festivities take place from 11am–2pm and again from 4pm–7pm. The musical performances are part of Music Under New York, the MTA's arts organization that's responsible for the 350 fantastic, multicultural  performers and bands that provide the tunes in NYC subway stations (you know, the music that makes you actually want to stop in the middle of your mad-dash to get where you’re going). If you want to get in on the free action, here’s when you should conveniently schedule a trip on MetroNorth, or take an extended lunch from your midtown office:

April 4

11am-2pm

The free samples:

-Four different flavors of ice cream and sorbet from Jacques Torres
-Fresh brewed coffee from Oren’s Daily Roast
-Fashion jewelry from Tia’s Place
-Food samples from Tri Tip Steak

 The music: Jazz and pop keyboardist and vocalist Galdort Gumbo

4pm-7pm

The free samples:

-Singapore noodles from Feng Shui
-Personal fragrance samples from Diptyque
-Assorted cheese crackers and jams from Murray’s Cheese
-Mini black & white cookies and rugelach from Zaro’s Family Bakery

The music: Latin fusion guitars from Inti & the Moon

April 11

-Freshly brewed coffee from Café Grumpy
-Salami & provolone, prosciutto & parmigiano reggiano, Ceriello Dressing and Ceriello Sauce from Ceriello Fine Foods
