The Bronx Zoo is getting a zip line to soar over the river

If you’ve been desperately missing the Bronx Zoo’s Skyfari, the best ride by far until it was taken down in 2009, we have good news. Next summer, a zip line will be installed over the Bronx River in the zoo. Hello, our new favorite thing to do in the Bronx.

The ride will let you sail on a 375-foot wire that’s 45 feet off the ground, putting you at the level of the park’s treetops. The ride’s for ages 7 and up, but it’s likely to be more appealing to extreme sports lovers than the Bug Carousel is (though it is arguably quite adorable).
