As if the Polar Vortex headed toward NYC weren’t enough, the city is also hosting the Central Park Conservancy Ice Festival this winter. Held in Central Park’s Naumburg Bandshell on February 11 from 3 to 7pm, the event is free—and entirely outdoors, of  course.

The main event is the creation of an iconic Central Park statue in 6,000 pounds of ice by carvers from Okamoto Studio. The festival will also have stations where you can try ice carving yourself, displays of Christmas lights and a silent disco. Elsa would have a field day.

Last year’s festival was actually cancelled because of extreme temperatures, so we’re extra excited for this one. (Fingers crossed we don’t all freeze to death by then.)
