The James Beard Award finalists are here—meet your New York contenders

It's never a shock when New York makes a strong showing at the annual James Beard Awards ("the Oscars of food") but this year's turnout is especially impressive. Announced this morning, the list of final nominees for the 2015 awards include NYC newcomers like Batard and Cosme—both of which deservedly had spots on our own 100 Best Dishes list this year—and bone-broth mastermind Marco Canora (Hearth), up for Best Chef in New York City. To gear up for the awards show on May 4th, held this year in Chicago, check out the full list of New York-based finalists below:
