We're living in a weird time—one when reality-show stars can rise up to the highest office in the country and "jarstaurant" is an actual word that exists.

Ancolie, an eatery that serves its entire range of soups, salads, grains and desserts in jars, is open at 58 West 8th Street after a successful Kickstarter campaign. Chef-owner Chloe Vichot is planning to change the menu each season—the current lineup offers coconut chia pudding for breakfast, faro salad with apple, butternut squash and mint for lunch, and chocolate jar cake for dessert.

As part of the eco-friendly ethos, diners who return the jars to Ancolie will receive a buck back, and those who bring in their own reusable cups for hot beverages will get 50 cents off.
