The United States is about to have a birthday party, and New York is set to celebrate with a gigantic fireworks show over the East River.

RECOMMENDED: Full guide to 4th of July in NYC

The 41st Annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks will light up the night sky over midtown with more than 60,000 pyrotechnics at 9:25pm. The show—which you can catch from different areas of Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn—will be synched up to tracks featuring the West Point Band and Glee Club and will go on for a full 25 minutes. The barges that shoot off the fireworks will be along the East River from 24th Street to 41st Street, so keep that in mind when you're scoping out the best vantage point (and stay tuned for our list of the best bars and parties to celebrate at). Or if you'd rather sit on your couch with a hot dog in hand, NBC will air a two-hour live broadcast of the show at 10pm with TBA live performers.
