The Meatpacking District gets a bad rep, y’know, with its crowded nightclubs and pricey restaurants that give off a high-class only vibe. But the nabe is ditching its exclusive door policy by throwing an event where everyone—even the most jaded New Yorker—is welcome.

Check out the action-packed bazaar—dubbed Open Market NYC—featuring shopping discounts, entertainment, freebies and more. We’ve highlighted the six can’t-miss activities you’ll want to check out, so plan accordingly. The fun starts Thursday, Oct 1 and lasts through Sunday, Oct 4.

Go to a concert

Kick off the weekend with a bang and cop a ticket ($125) to see live performances by indie artist Santigold as well as DJ sets by Tanlines and Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs). Sure, the price is steep, but it earns you tons, and we mean loads, of free grub and drinks from hot spots in the nabe like Bill’s Bar & Burger, Giovanni Rana, The Standard Grill and more. Highline Stages, 441 W 14th St (openmarketnyc.com). Thu 1 7pm–10:30pm.

Shop like a boss

Every great market has a kick-ass lineup of vendors, and this bonanza is no exception. For the first time ever, get 20 percent off in-store from high-end shops like Alice + Olivia, Rag & Bone, Theory and more. Bonus: Rebecca Taylor is offering a free bouquet with every purchase (Saturday 3). Are you Feeling thirsty? You can guzzle complimentary cocktails while ogling Calliope’s chic home goods. Various locations. Fri 2–Sun 4.

Break a sweat

Party, shop and tone your bod in one spot? That’s right, you don’t have to sacrifice your weekend sweat sesh to make the most of this event. Open Market teamed up with Lululemon to offer four free high-intensity boot camp classes outside on the cobblestones. Just make sure to R.S.V.P. to secure a spot. (openmarketnyc.com). Chelsea Triangle, N 14th St and Ninth Ave. Sat 3 9am–noon.

Get pampered

We can’t think of a better postworkout remedy than a shoulder massage. And luckily, masseuses from Exhale Spa will be standing by to offer mini-massages (scalp, hands, feet, back and shoulders) and wellness tips to keep you relaxed and energized. Translation: You can shop till you drop, be revived and shop some more. Public Plaza, Little W 12th and Ninth Ave. Sat 3–Sun 4 noon–4pm.

Take five

The ’hood has spared no expense to keep you entertained, but you’ll need to take a breather at some point. Lounge at the Pop-up Park (with real grass!), play some giant Jenga and snack on delicacies from picnic baskets. Then on Sunday night, Lululemon will host a sunset meditation class to end the event on a peaceful note. Namaste. Gansevoort St and Ninth Ave. Fri 2–Sun 4.

Tour the gems of the neighborhood

If you have yet to step inside the Whitney Museum of American Art, first of all, what are you doing?! Second, now's your chance to snag a private tour for free! There's also a behind the scenes walk-through of Milk Studios, Palantir and more. Just sign up here to be entered into the lottery and secure your spot.
