We already knew that subway fare is going up to $3 in 2017, but wait, now there’s more!
The MTA is considering yet another price increase, raising monthly MetroCard prices by $4.50 for a new total of $121 a month. (The current price for a monthly card is $116.50, so that’s nearly a four percent increase.) The price of weekly MetroCards would also be raised from $31 to $32.
A final decision about the prices will be made in December, so stay tuned for more info. And maybe consider switching to Uber.
