A fleet of military vessels isn’t the only thing invading New York shores Wednesday; the barge is back!

After a summer of numerous delayed openings and a winter of hibernation ashore in the Hudson Valley, The Brooklyn Barge will officially open for the season on the East River near 3 Milton St. in Greenpoint. (For real. It's official this time. We checked.)

The barge itself will seat 190 with the land surrounding it providing room for another 200 people. Patrons will be able to sip beer, wine and specialty cocktails like the Greenpoint Mule (silver tequila, ginger beer and lime).

To make sure you keep your wits about you while indulging in your favorite beverage The Brooklyn Barge will feature a menu full of classics such as fish tacos and crispy chicken sandwiches. Additionally, the menu will boast some unusual takes on classics like the Pork Fries with cured pork belly, a poached egg and salsa verde.

The barge will be open seven days a week from 11am – 2am weather permitting until November.
