Watch a cat get rescued from the subway tracks

An almost-tragic story got a happy ending yesterday when a cat was narrowly rescued after jumping onto the subway tracks. George, an uncharacteristically lucky black cat, got free from its owner at the Canal Street station while it was heading home from the vet.

In order to rescue the fleeing feline, two MTA employees climbed onto the tracks and scooped up the pet. A total of 83 trains on the A, B, C, D, E and F lines were rerouted or delayed because of the incident that you can watch below.
