Next time you're on the subway, you just might become a guest at an impromptu birthday party.
Comedy collective Improv Everywhere—probably best known for its annual No Pants Subway Ride—threw a surprise 16th birthday party on a Q train, complete with giant balloons, streamers and noisemakers. The group of actors (sorry to smash your dreams) hustled onto a Q car and asked straphangers to hold props and get ready to scream "Surprise!" when the birthday girl Jenny stepped into the car at the next stop. Of course New Yorkers are game for most things, so people played along and seemed to really get a kick out of the whole thing once Jenny came on the scene and seemed absolutely shocked—plus, the riders got cupcakes! There was even a golden background for photo opps!
