There may be plenty of haunted sites here in NYC, but for those looking for a full-on, Tim Burton-scale Halloween experience, there's no better place to visit than the lovely hamlet of Sleepy Hollow—known originally as Tarrytown—where Washington Irving set loose his fictional favorite The Headless Horseman in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Just in time for a full season of Jack O' Lantern shenanigans, NY Water Taxi is offering special rides to Sleepy Hollow on the three most event-packed days of the Tarrytown season.

On October 15, 22 and 29, you can grab a $25 ferry from Christopher Street or Pier 84 and enjoy spooky themed drinks and the passing fall foliage as you cruise 30 miles up the Hudson River. Once you disembark, you can enjoy a full day trip: hit up seasonal events like cemetery tours, performances of the Edgar Allen Poe show Nevermore, the Horseman's Village fright night and even the Tarrytown Halloween parade.

The Sleepy Hollow Ferry runs four times on each of its dates, and tickets sell out fast. You can learn more and reserve your seat here.
