Argento Ensemble

As the prominent, brilliant and provocative Austrian composer Georg Friedrich Haas arrives in New York to begin a stint on the Columbia University composition faculty, the Argento Ensemble and ACFNY welcome him with a performance of his virtuosic Atthis, a dramatic chamber work based on the erotic songs of Sappho. The program, which features soprano Sharon Harms, also includes songs by Webern and an arrangement of the Adagio from Berg's Kammerkonzert.
