LGBT-friendly artists, cosplayers and fans of all things geeky flocked to Park Slope's Grand Prospect Hall ("We make your dreams come true!”) this weekend for the first-ever Flame Con. The event, produced by queer-nerd organization Geeks OUT, included dozens of exhibitors, as well as appearances from prominent artists and a reading from the folks behind the popular podcast Welcome to Night Vale. And much like the giant New York Comic Con, it featured plenty of people decked in incredibly creative costumes. The Fire Ball after-party, packed with burlesque and drag shenanigans, followed the action at the con.
