CMJ. Yet another indie band to rise up through the blogosphere, Canadian ensemble Braids plays shimmery, atmospheric pop that sounds like it was shoved through a shoegaze lens. This stacked Brooklyn Vegan bill also features Active Child (a.k.a. Pat Grossi, an ex-choirboy from New Jersey), whose ethereal songs pair a plaintive and supple falsetto with classic harp strums, dubstep beats and shimmering synths, as well as loud, fuzzy and awesome SF band Weekend and triumphantly psychedelic pop outfit Pepper Rabbit.
