After teasing Met audiences with a sensational performance of the final scene at the 2008–2009 season opener, Renée Fleming finally performs the whole shebang as the Countess in this classic production of Richard Strauss's lush, final opera. With dreamy tenor Joseph Kaiser and lyric baritone Russell Braun in the roles of the competing musician and poet, the Countess's indecisiveness is understandable.
