The Spanish Donkey, a murky, ominous free-improv venture from guitarist Joe Morris, bassist-keyboardist Jamie Saft and drummer Mike Pride, celebrates a new self-titled effort on Northern-Spy Records. Rounding out the bill are various avant-luminaries, including postnoise fusionists Controlled Bleeding; art-pop veteran David Grubbs; and the trio of drummer Ryan Sawyer, multi-instrumentalist C. Spencer Yeh and trumpeter Nate Wooley.
