Time Out says

Prepare to be awed at this powerful evening of music and spoken word on Tuesday, November 29.

In the first installment of the Orchestra of St. Luke's new "Visionary Sounds" series, Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Rita Dove will read selections from her work. Dove, the first Black U.S. Poet Laureate, will share excerpts from her book-length narrative poem, Sonata Mulattica, which recounts the story of George Bridgetower, the 19th-century Afro-European violin prodigy who fell from grace after a disagreement with Beethoven.

Members of the orchestra will join in for the performance to complement her poetry.
