Chocolate lovers, rejoice: an indulgent yet refined new offering is here. Chococo, a beloved chocolatier in Britain, has officially arrived stateside, bringing its thoughtfully crafted chocolate (and a distinctly British sense of charm) to New York City.
While you can already get a sweet taste of what's to come on the Upper East Side at 1293 3rd Avenue, the real showstopper lands on May 2 with a new flagship at 500 Madison Avenue. At this location will be the brand's Chocolate House concept, bringing the warmth of a cafe combined with a curated chocolate gallery setting. And there's temptation at every turn.
Founded by Claire Burnet and Andy Burnet on England’s Jurassic Coast, Chococo started as a small rebellion against bland, mass-produced sweets. Two decades and more than 130 awards later, that rebellion has clearly paid off. Their focus on direct-trade cocoa, single-origin chocolate and ingredients that are fresh, local and seasonal whenever possible has led to their success.
At the new flagship, you can browse neat rows of truffles, sample single-origin bars or build your own box from a loose chocolate counter. But it's a cafe too. Chococo will serve gelato from Il Laboratorio del Gelato, pastries from SMOR and coffee from Abbotsford Road Coffee alongside rich, signature hot chocolates.
Beyond that, there's a tasting experience featuring over 100 chocolate varieties. Even better, you can try your hand at decorating your own chocolate bar. Just try not to eat your masterpiece before it's complete.
Check out the location in the Upper East Side now, and mark your calendars for the flagship opening on May 2, 2026.
