Philadelphia’s favorite crispy, golden-fried chicken is crossing state lines. Love & Honey Fried Chicken is making its NYC debut at 229 Flatbush Avenue, just steps from Barclays Center, later this month.

Love & Honey came to be in 2017 thanks to Culinary Institute of America grads (and power couple) Laura and Todd Lyons, and quickly became a Philly sensation with a cult following. The fan club boasts local legends like Questlove and Kylie Kelce, alongside critics who have showered them with accolades like "best in Pennsylvania" and "a double-fistful of next-level flavor."

So what's with all the hype? It all starts on a Delaware farm, where the chickens are humanely raised, vegetarian-fed and kept strictly antibiotic- and hormone-free. Once in the kitchen, the chicken is brined, hand-dredged and fried to order before being crowned with a light, signature drizzle of honey.

The menu is packed with heavy hitters. The star of the show is the OG Fried Chicken Sandwich—a monster buttermilk-fried chicken breast stacked high with creamy buttermilk ranch slaw, sweet pickles and house-made ranch on a butter-toasted brioche bun. The hot-chili-oil-dredged Nashville Fried Chicken Sandwich is a spicy-sweet combo that packs a punch. Other classics include ultra-juicy tenders, crispy wings or thighs, paired with sides like crunchy tater tots and sweet cornbread muffins.

Whatever you do, save room for dessert. Their house-made banana pudding—artfully layered with classic Nilla wafers, fresh banana slices and a cloud of house-made whipped cream—has a reputation that rivals the chicken itself.

Whether you're grabbing a pre-game bite before a concert at Barclays or simply on a quest for juicy, crunchy fried chicken, you'll be able to get what you need at Love & Honey when it opens its doors around July 23.
