New York goes big for the holidays, with dozens of markets and over-the-top light displays taking over the city. But, apparently, there's room to go even bigger.

This year, a brand new double-decker carousel is set to spin holiday cheer throughout the season in Greeley Square at 33rd Street and Broadway on November 21, offering rides through January 6, 2026.

The two-story swirl of lights, music and storybook creatures will spin from 10am to 10pm daily, offering plenty of opportunity to catch a ride before, during or after your holiday shopping.

Speaking of shopping: the carousel will be in the perfect location. It will sit just steps from Macy’s Herald Square, where the holidays are already in full swing. Inside the store, the lower level is packed with vendors selling everything from doughnuts to handmade ornaments. Let's not forget the on-site Santaland, which brings the North Pole to New York, offering kids a chance to meet Santa himself. Outside, you'll find Macy's iconic holiday window displays and an open air market that's pure holiday joy. Grab a hot beverage, browse market vendors, then hop aboard the carousel. Can you think of a more holiday-perfect day?

The ride itself is extra special, with sweeping views of 34th Street from the top deck. It's both thrilling and nostalgic, primed for magical holiday memory-making. If you're anywhere near Herald Square this winter, follow the music and unleash your inner child with a ride on this unique holiday attraction that's sure to become a classic.
