Forget the sad desk breakfast: New York’s most reliable morning pairing is getting a waterfront festival all its own. Loxfest, the bagels-and-smoked-salmon celebration that debuted last year, is returning to Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport on Saturday, September 19.
Presented by FultonFishMarket.com, the online arm of the historic Fulton Fish Market, the one-day event will bring together a lineup of local restaurants and bagel makers for a spread of lox-centric bites. Confirmed participants include Casa Cugine, Peck Slip Social, 19 Cleveland, Paris Cafe and Greenberg’s Bagels, with more vendors still to be announced.

“Bagels and lox are such an enduring part of New York’s food culture, and Fulton Fish Market has anchored that seafood tradition—both locally and nationally—for over two centuries,” Mike Tonetti, CEO of FultonFishMarket.com, said in a statement. “Events like this let us step out of the pre-dawn market hours and celebrate alongside the local businesses and makers who continue to put their own stamp on this tradition.”
Expect plenty of options beyond your standard cream cheese and capers order. The vendors will be putting their own spins on the city’s beloved smoked-salmon ritual, offering an excuse to taste your way through several versions before declaring a personal best. There will also be samples, giveaways, live music and other food-friendly distractions throughout the day.
Loxfest will run in two sessions: 10 am–12:30 pm and 1–3:30 pm. General admission and VIP tickets are available for all ages, starting at $25. Tickets include entry plus one to three food tokens, depending on the ticket type; additional tokens will be sold on-site, and group packages are also available.
