The 2026 FIFA World Cup officially starts tomorrow! And if it is anything like the fervor we are seeing with the Knicks right now—with blue and orange foods and hype zones on commuter trains—hundreds of restaurants, bars and businesses will be getting in on the action. But if you’ve been screaming "Força Portugal!" since birth, then we have just the place for you.
If you haven’t heard already, Brooklyn's Time Out Market New York is going red and green for the World Cup. Partnering with the Portugal Football Federation, the entire market hall is being transformed into the immersive fan experience, Portugal House, for the worldwide tournament. Starting this Saturday, June 13, the multi-sensory activation is channeling the food, drink and energy of Portugal with live cooking demonstrations, pours upon pours of Portuguese wines and one-of-a-kind cultural experiences, starting with a celebration of Santos Populares, one of the country’s most treasured open-air festivals.
So it makes sense that the Market will also be a hub for gameday. The official Portugal watch party kicks off with Portugal versus Congo on June 17, followed by the match-up against Uzbekistan on June 23 and another on June 27, this time against Colombia. Beyond live screenings on each of our TV screens, the 5th-floor rooftop will be feeding the crowds with Portuguese food, flowing taps of beers and wines. And during halftime, guests can check out dedicated fan experiences and games such as the interactive Portugal Match Quiz.
Here’s a quick rundown of all of the games thus far:
- June 17: Portugal vs Congo
- June 23: Portugal vs Uzbekistan
- June 27: Portugal vs. Colombia
And if you are a fan of futbol, period, you can catch all of the match-ups at Dumbo market and at the Manhattan locale, Time Out New York, Union Square. Regardless of which two teams face off on July 18, both Markets will stream the final, with a large-scale Portugal celebration at the Dumbo market. Game on!
