A new CBD cocktail bar has opened in Astoria with lots of munchies

New Yorkers are not the types to just dip their toes into things. When we get whiff of an upcoming food trend, we inhale it to death until the next one comes around (avocado toast...crazy milkshakes...frosé). And the current trend du jour in the city is CBD (cannabidiol), the completely legal compound found in marijuana that does not get you high, but chills you out. There are already a ton of places this summer where you can sip and munch on the property, and now you can head to this Astoria bar that built its whole concept around CBD.

Adriaen Block (19-33 Ditmars Blvd) is a newly-opened cocktail bar that serves a full menu of drinks laced with CBD tinctures. Want a Stoney Negroni? How about a Rolled Fashion? Or a Bakin' & Eggs garnished with actual bacon? All the cocktails are mixed solely with softer booze (apertif wines, liqueurs, bitters) and a dash of CBD for a chiller, calmer drinking experience.

However, if you'd rather just focus on the health benefits of CBD without suffering a hangover the next morning, there's also a list of mocktails that are made with Seedlip, a distilled but non-alcoholic spirit. Look for the earthy Garden & Tonic with botanical tonic water and fresh peas, and the Pear & Parsnip with an eponymous, house-made shrub.

Of course, if you want to pretend you're actually getting high, there's a food list of "munchies" complete with burgers, steaks and seafood (yes there is a CBD sauce for the steaks and CBD whipped cream for dessert).

Given the popularity of CBD, we think it's gonna be dope.
