It’s no secret that the East Village has its fair share of restaurant and bar options. (There’s so many you'd probably never run out of new spots to show up to hangry all year.) But sometimes, it feels pretty darn good to just stay in and cook a wholesome dinner in your pajamas.

Luckily for EV residents, cult-favorite grocery store Trader Joe’s has officially opened a brand-new location today at 436 East 14th Street and Avenue A.

The new location may only live three avenues away from the original 14th Street flagship, but consider this amazing news. If you’ve ever shopped the Union Square Trader Joe’s, you know that it's always complete madness on the weekends and after work. Getting your cart through at peak busy hours can sometimes feel like you're playing a game of real-life Tetris.

We're hoping another TJ's in the nabe will help lessen those crowds with two places to find all their specialty items. The new Avenue A location also has some new attributes to look forward to like extra-wide aisles and drawings on the walls from local illustrator Peter Arkle.

If you're looking for Trader Joe's in other neighborhoods, you'll also find them on the Lower East Side and Upper West Side (two locations) and in Murray Hill, Soho, Rego Park, Cobble Hill, at City Point in Downtown Brooklyn and, coming soon, Court Square in Long Island City.
