After more than five years of sequins, belting and Tudor-era girl power, Broadway’s queens are getting ready to step off their thrones, all heads intact.
SIX, the Tony Award-winning musical by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, will close on Broadway on January 3, 2027. By the time the curtain falls at the Lena Horne Theatre, the show will have played 2,178 performances.

Tickets for all remaining performances are now on sale, so if you’ve been putting off your chance to see Henry VIII’s six wives turn their historical misery into a full-blown pop concert, the clock is officially ticking.
SIX opened on Broadway on October 3, 2021, with previews beginning September 17. It was the first new musical to open on Broadway after the COVID-19 shutdown, making its run something of a historical event even before its queens started competing for the spotlight.
The musical takes the six wives of Henry VIII and gives each one her own pop-star persona, transforming 500 years of heartbreak, royal scandal and beheadings into a euphoric celebration of girl power. The show has become an international phenomenon, winning the 2022 Tony Award for Best Original Score.
The current Broadway cast features Khaila Wilcoxon as Catherine of Aragon, Chloe Tucker Caine as Anne Boleyn, Natalie Paris as Jane Seymour, Olivia Donalson as Anna of Cleves, Aimie Atkinson as Katherine Howard and Stephanie Jae Park as Catherine Parr. Lauryn Adams, Aryn Bohannon, Maggie Likcani and Aiyana Smash also appear as alternates.
SIX is co-directed by Moss and Jamie Armitage, with choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, scenic design by Emma Bailey, costume design by Gabriella Slade, lighting design by Tim Deiling, sound design by Paul Gatehouse, orchestrations by Tom Curran with music supervision by Joe Beighton and U.S. music supervision by Roberta Duchak.
Currently the longest-running show ever to play the Lena Horne Theatre (formerly the Brooks Atkinson), SIX ranks as the 40th longest-running show in Broadway history.
