With so many concerts, events and activities in NYC, deciding how to spend your free time is no small feat. No one knows that better than Time Out New York editors—who do you think rounds up all the best things to do in NYC, anyway? During our research, we occasionally come across deals that are just too good to pass up. Here are five of the best we found this week, including a sugary-sweet Valentine’s Day celebration, a brand-new ballet and the annual event that dog lovers won’t want to miss.

Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show Piers 92/94 and Madison Square Garden; Mon 12, Tue 13 at various times; tickets start at $46.

New Combinations David H. Koch Theater; Thu 8 at 7:30pm, Fri 9 at 8pm, Sun 11 at 3pm; tickets start at $30.
Three works take the stage at the New York City Ballet this week: dance odyssey, a brand new ballet, The Red Violin, set to a frenzied concerto, and Russian Seasons, an emotional ensemble piece.
