New York’s hotel scene just scored another bragging right—or four, to be exact. The World’s 50 Best Hotels has unveiled its first-ever extended ranking, recognizing the 51–100 best hotels across the globe and four New York icons landed on the list.

The glossy lineup includes Aman New York (No. 61), The Carlyle (No. 64), the Fifth Avenue Hotel (No. 75) and the Greenwich Hotel (No. 77)—a mix of uptown legends and downtown favorites that show just how many ways the city defines luxury.

This is the first time 50 Best has published an extended list, expanding its original 50 to highlight more destinations “shaping the future of travel.” The rankings are determined by votes from more than 800 anonymous experts, including hoteliers, travel journalists, educators and luxury travelers from around the world.

“As we enter our third year, we are delighted to honour even more of the world’s most outstanding hotels with the extended 51–100 list,” said Emma Sleight, head of content for The World’s 50 Best Hotels. “The dedication and passion of the hotel industry means it is constantly growing and improving, so it is incredibly difficult for our judges to vote for just seven properties.”

The new list spans 24 territories and 40 cities, with Europe and Asia leading the pack, but North America held its own—especially New York, which was home to more recognized hotels than any other city on the continent.

Among the local winners, Aman New York continues to dominate luxury conversations, known for its ultra-private spa and sky-high suites perched above Fifth Avenue. The Carlyle, a Madison Avenue classic since 1930, remains the city’s gold standard for discreet glamour (and presidential sightings). Meanwhile, the Fifth Avenue Hotel—newer to the scene—earned its spot for whimsical design and a sumptuous energy that bridges uptown elegance with downtown edge. Finally, Tribeca’s Greenwich Hotel rounds out the group with its quietly confident charm and cult-favorite Shibui Spa.

This year’s extended list sets the stage for the main event: the unveiling of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025 on October 30 in London. Until then, New York can bask in the glow of its global hotel dominance—one martini at Bemelmans, one massage at Aman at a time.
