You scream, I scream, we all scream for free ice cream.

To celebrate National Ice Cream Sandwich Day on Wednesday, August 2, M&M's Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches will be offered for free across the city.

Mars Ice Cream’s first-ever late-night ice cream truck, the M&M’S Ice Cream Night Freeze Truck, will roam Manhattan to offer treats to New Yorkers all day and through the night. Ice cream sandwiches in three flavors— vanilla, chocolate, and cookies and cream—will be given away until 11pm.

The ice cream truck’s complimentary cookie voyage kicks off at noon at Hearst Tower (8th Avenue between 56th and 57th Streets). At 1pm, it will depart south to Paramount Plaza (Broadway between West 51st and West 50th Streets) and stay until about 2:45 pm. The truck will continue its voyage to the mothership at M&M’S New York (West 48th Street between Broadway and 7th Avenue) from 3 to 4pm and make its way to the Grace Building (West 42nd Street between 5th and 6th Avenues) from 4:45pm - 6:15pm for an end-of-work treat near Bryant Park.

At night, the truck will park at Union Square (Union Square West between East 17th and East 16th Street) from 7pm to 8:30pm and make its way down to Astor Place, at the corner of Cooper Square and Astor Place at 9:30pm until the ice cream runs out. Not exactly “late night” for New Yorkers, but free ice cream is free ice cream. While you’re down there, give the recently refurbished cube a spin.

Miss the truck? A sweepstakes will also fill one fan’s freezer with a summertime supply of M&M’S Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches, to fuel your late-night ambitions. Visit mms.com/nightfreeze for a chance to win.
