Rockefeller Center is getting a sweet new boutique just in time for the holidays. Ladurée, the iconic Parisian patisserie famed for its chocolates, confections and pretty pastel macarons, is opening its newest location just steps from the ice rink and Christmas tree. The opening, set for December, is a real treat for anyone who loves delicate pastries (whether for gifting or indulging) and the allure of Paris.
This new location will boast an extra stylish touch as Ladurée has partnered with Brunschwig & Fils, a heritage textile house with more than a century of experience in all things craftsmanship, to design the space. The collaboration pairs two beloved French traditions, resulting in a unique visual story told through a palette of Ladurée greens and custom Brunschwig & Fils patterns featuring lively botanical motifs and elegant stripes.
"This new boutique is both a landmark moment for Ladurée and an invitation for New Yorkers and visitors alike to celebrate with us, Parisian style," said Katina Dermatas, CEO of Ladurée U.S., in an official statement. "We are thrilled to extend Ladurée’s footprint to such an iconic New York City destination. Gifting and the art of celebration have always been at the heart of our brand, and we are excited to partner with Brunschwig & Fils to bring that spirit to life through design."
The design collaboration also includes a special edition macaron box that will be available in the new store and online next month. The box features the boutique's custom patterns and is pretty enough to serve as a keepsake once the delectable macarons are long gone.
If macarons and other sweet treats are on your holiday list, make plans to do your shopping amidst the holiday splendor of Rockefeller Center's Channel Gardens. Follow @Ladurée for updates on the new location.
