If your TikTok feed has been flooded with crispy-edged smash burgers lately, here's your chance to taste one without spending a dime.
Miami-born burger chain Skinny Louie is celebrating the opening of its fourth New York City location by giving away free burgers to the first 100 people in line at its new East Village restaurant, which opens this Friday, July 24, at 6 pm.

The new outpost, located at 141 Second Avenue, continues the brand's rapid expansion in New York. After debuting in NoMad and adding locations in the West Village and Upper East Side, Skinny Louie already has two more NYC restaurants on deck, with Penn Station and Park Slope expected to open later this year.
The menu keeps things intentionally simple, but regulars swear by the off-menu "Very Best Burger," a double smash burger topped with smoked gouda, truffle aioli and jalapeño relish. That burger has already picked up some serious bragging rights, winning top honors at both the South Beach Wine & Food Festival Burger Bash and the New York City Wine & Food Festival Burger Bash last year.
The restaurant's regular lineup is equally straightforward: choose between the Skinny Louie Cheeseburger with grilled onions, double American cheese, pickles and house Louie Sauce, a classic cheeseburger, or an applewood bacon burger. Add fries, one of three milkshake flavors and call it dinner.
Miss the first 100? You'll still be able to order from the full menu once the restaurant opens for business. And judging by the pace of Skinny Louie's expansion, chances are this won't be the last neighborhood to get its own smash burger fix.
