The annual fundraiser from New York City food rescue program City Harvest is back—and for BID 2026, its transporting attendees to a much groovier decade. The theme, Peace, Love and City Harvest, sets the tone for a "mod-inspired evening" filled with the "glamour, groove and effortless cool" that's often associated with the 1960s.
The organization this year is set to rescue 100 million pounds of high-quality food and deliver it to hundreds of food pantries and soup kitchens across the five boroughs. The organization has been operating for more than 40 years, and continues to work with iconic institutions like the New York City Marathon and GrowNYC Greenmarket.
For BID 2026, City Harvest has invited nearly 50 chefs and mixologists including Yoosoo Park (Atoboy), Eric Valdez (Naks), SK Kim (Coqodaq), Stefano Secchi (Rezdôra, Massara), Emily Yuen (Yingtao) and more to provide tasty bites and sips for everyone as they dance the night away and bid on a silent auction. Some of the experts will also be committed to the theme: Wayan is planning "flower power dumplings," and Muddling Memories will bring the '60s mushroom motif to martinis.
What can attendees bid on? Well, there's a private cocktail hour and dinner at Aldo Sohm Wine Bar and Eric Ripert's Le Bernardin, a night of karaoke and Champagne at Simon Kim's Cote 550, a private whisky masterclass put on through the House of Suntory at Bar Yoshoku, a getaway to Champagne Bollinger's estate in Aÿ, France and more.
There is a long—very long—list of hosts and co-chairs, some of whom you may recognize: Tom Colicchio, Kristen Kish, Simon Kim, Antoni Porowski, Eric Ripert, Gail Simmons, Andrew Zimmern, Katie Couric, Neil Patrick Harris, Busy Philipps, Andrew Carmellini, Desus Nice and more.
Taking place on October 28 at The Glasshouse (660 12th Ave.), the fundraiser is a big-ticket event—pricing per person ranges from $2,000 to $100,000—and guests must be 21 or older. The most affordable "Can You Dig It" ticket gets you a basic 7pm entry, while the six other pricing tiers offer varying degrees of VIP treatment, with perks like premium tasting hours, private bars, meet-and-greets with the chefs and more. Still, even your measly $2,000 is making a difference (according to City Harvest, it will help feed more than 1,000 NYC families for a day).
Last year's BID 2025 broke a fundraising record for the nonprofit, which was ultimately able to feed more than 4 million New Yorkers. This year's goal is to do the same.
