Game, set, Manhattan! This August, the Seaport is trading its famous cobblestones for crisp court lines with the debut of Seaport Racquet Club, a three-week tennis takeover in partnership with Racquet magazine. From Monday, August 18 to September Sunday, 7, Seaport Square will transform into a full-size tennis court flanked by cocktails, live match streams, neighborhood pop-ups and the occasional star player dropping by.

The setup is a tennis fan’s playground: open-court sessions for the public, pro-led clinics and a packed calendar of tennis-themed happenings. First-come, first-served play means you can live out your center-court dreams without even leaving Lower Manhattan—just check the online schedule before lacing up. Off the court, Heineken Riverdeck, Malibu Farm, Outdoor Bar and Lawn Bar will be shaking up signature Honey Deuce cocktails (yes, the ones from the U.S. Open) with prime Brooklyn Bridge views as your backdrop.
If you’re a Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmember, your perks get seriously upgraded. From August 18–21, you’ll have access to the members-only Sapphire Reserve Stadium, complete with open play, clinics and, on August 21, two hour-long clinics with tennis star Jess Pegula (redeemable via Ultimate Rewards). Want to skip the drills? You can still claim complimentary Celsius coffee while watching the action courtside.
Racquet magazine will also throw a splashy Issue No. 27 launch party on Saturday, August 20, unveiling a new collab with the art-world pranksters at MSCHF. Expect bites, cocktails, music and a guest list heavy on pros and influencers, all under the glow of the Sapphire Reserve Stadium lights. Cardmembers get special access; rain date is August 21.
Throughout the fest, the neighborhood will hum with tennis-adjacent energy: retail pop-ups, giveaways and spaces to catch streaming matches if you’re more spectator than server. Whether you’re rallying on Seaport Square, sipping a cold drink along the East River, or people-watching between points, the whole district is leaning into the sport.
Think of it as New York’s answer to Wimbledon, minus the airfare, plus skyline views and a killer post-match food scene. With pro tips, public play and plenty of ways to toast a win (or shrug off a loss), Seaport Racquet Club is set to be the summer’s ace.
