New Yorkers are painting the town blue and orange, and we're absolutely here for it as the Knicks gear up to face the Spurs in their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999—when they also took on San Antonio. Game 1 tips off tomorrow night in San Antonio, but New Yorkers are already showing their hometown pride, with Knicks fever taking over the city well before the series gets underway.
Unsurprisingly, even the subway is getting in on the excitement. Yesterday, folks walking around midtown noticed MTA workers painting the entrance to the A, C and E station at 34th Street–Penn Station, just outside Madison Square Garden—where the Knicks will host their home games—in the team's signature blue and orange colors.

The city is practically vibrating with excitement, and the first two games won't even be played here. Just imagine how wild things will get when Games 3 and 4 come to Madison Square Garden on Monday, June 8, and Wednesday, June 10—especially if President Donald Trump ends up making an appearance. Yes, he's been invited, and yes, he has said he may come to town for the showdown.
We have faith that this will be our year. But regardless of what happens, there's something undeniably comforting about seeing New Yorkers rally behind the same cause, united by a shared sense of hope and excitement. The Knicks are bringing this city together in a way few things can—and we're cheering them on every step of the way.
Let's go, Knicks.
