The waitlist for one of the most exclusive and most-Instagrammable things to do in summer is open, and it’s definitely worth throwing your name in.
Dîner en Blanc—NYC’s pièce de résistance of picnics—takes over a beautiful outdoor space in New York every summer, and gives Gothamites an opportunity to show off their all-white wardrobe, decorative skills and Top Chef-level cooking. This year’s date will be announced closer to the event.
The French-inspired bash comes with a fair share of rules which, oddly enough, only adds to the hype. For instance, everything is BYO—unless you order food and alcohol to be retrieved during the bash. And the location and entertainment for the event is all a huge secret. In fact, the destination isn’t revealed to guests until an hour before the party begins.
Dîner en Blanc is probably one of the most exclusive affairs in the city as participation occurs in three stages. Phase I registration is for members who attended the previous year; Phase II registration is for new members who are referred by Phase I attendees; and Phase III is for folks who sign up to be put on the waiting list.
