Honey Saves Hives is a national campaign designed to raise awareness about one of Earth’s most precious animals: the honey bee. Backed by The National Honey Board (NHB), the campaign’s mission is to educate consumers and chefs alike about the humble honey bee and its crucial impact on the environment. Looking to save the bees? Then you have to see what’s buzzing in Dumbo this weekend.

Time Out Market New York, Dumbo and The National Honey Board are joining forces to share the message and save the bees. From September 20-21, the organization will be on-site at the market, educating people about the special connection between bees and the environment, the role of the beekeeper, and the delicate ecosystem as a whole. Popping up with a stand near Clinton St. Baking Company, the stand will also feature a series of products and goods that feature the golden liquid.

But it is better to experience the benefit of the bee through practice, no? As part of the pop-up, the organization challenged our talented chefs to curate a diverse menu all featuring, you guessed it, honey. And let's just say, they delivered. Vendor specials include hot honey Southern comforts from Jacob's Pickles to sugary sweet treats from Doughnuttery. Even the bar got in on the challenge as honey-forward cocktails include the Royal Hive (vodka, Chambord and lemon) to the Queen’s Remedy (gin, Bärenjäger Honey Liqueur, lemon and rosemary syrup)

Hungry for honey? Us too. So come on over to the Market and save the bees, one plate at a time. Check out the full menu of honey-forward offerings below:
