If you missed Camp Rubirosa last summer, you probably heard about it anyway. The summer pop-up in East Hampton generated plenty of buzz for its relaxed atmosphere and exceptional food. It was a must-have Hamptons experience, and now it's set to return as a permanent seasonal fixture.
Yes, it’s official. After a sold-out debut, the Camp Rubirosa team has confirmed it will return every year, settling into Race Lane as a summer tradition rather than a one-off hit.
The Hamptons outpost takes the spirit of Rubirosa’s Mulberry Street restaurant and give it a summer home. But instead of copying downtown Manhattan, Camp Rubirosa takes a vacation. There are big communal tables, an outdoor bar, Sunday Suppers and sunset vibes.
Last summer, fans returned over and over again. As co-founder Maria Pappalardo put it, "Camp is about coming back. It’s about that feeling when you walk in and everything feels familiar—the energy, the smells, the music, the food—and yet there’s something new waiting for you. This summer we watched families create real traditions. That’s when we knew this had to become annual.”
The setting is all about bringing those camp-like vibes. A central brick fireplace anchors the dining room before it spills out into Ciao Hall and onto the Piazza. It’s part Italian restaurant, part backyard party, part nostalgia trip. Playful touches in the decor keep things friendly and easy-going.
The menu features what Rubirosa does well, signature Italian American comfort food, but with a seasonal focus. Expect the classics, plus a few new additions each year.
If you know the feeling of going back to camp every summer and greeting your summer friends, the same spirit can be found at Camp Rubirosa. Just book your spot early on Resy.
Camp Rubirosa opens for the season on May 15.
