If your ideal summer involves campfires, sloppy joes and zero mosquito bites (or traffic), one of New York City’s most over-the-top rooftops has your perfect theme.

Magic Hour Rooftop at the Moxy Times Square is transforming into Camp Magic Hour, turning the venue’s West Terrace into a summer camp-inspired playground overlooking the Empire State Building. Launching this season, the new look goes heavy on Adirondack chairs, vintage coolers and fire pits designed to channel the carefree energy of a summer not spent in a concrete jungle.

The centerpiece is the rooftop’s carousel, now reconfigured as a giant lifeguard tower complete with nautical bunting, weathered life rings and lifeguard chairs. Guests entering the space will pass a wall of vintage camp patches, pennants and hats before heading out onto the terrace, where folding camp chairs surround a glowing fire pit beneath string lights and skyline views.

Don't worry—the vibe might scream adolescent nostalgia, but the refreshments are distinctly adult.

The limited-time menu includes upscale takes on camp classics, like the wagyu-beef Sloppy Joes, buffalo chicken Sloppy Joes and hot dogs topped with everything from cheese sauce and sauerkraut to caviar and sour cream. Dessert offerings include a fried PB&J, hand-dipped gelato and tableside s’mores kits.

The cocktail list follows the same nostalgic route, featuring Happy Camper (a tequila espresso martini with vanilla bean ice cream), Camp Coolaide (a berry smash with whiskey), a Lights Out Lemon Drop, and even a boozy “Bug Juice” party pouch.

The installation follows the rooftop’s winter Mountain Lodge takeover and continues Magic Hour’s tradition of seasonal, Instagram-friendly transformations. And while Magic Hour is generally a 21-and-over spot, families are welcome during weekend brunch service. The rooftop is also available for private events throughout the summer.

The whole experience promises an urban escape from adult woes and the chance to relive those carefree summer nights of youth. But this time, with way better booze and snacks.

Camp Magic Hour is located on the West Terrace of Magic Hour Rooftop at the Moxy Times Square, 485 Seventh Avenue. Reservations are available now. For more information, click here.
