File this under “best news you’ll hear all week”: Free wine is pouring across New York City and all you have to do is show up hungry. From Monday, September 15 through Friday, September 19, the first-ever Asti Week is taking over the city, turning dinners at some of NYC’s most beloved Italian restaurants into fizzy celebrations of Piedmont’s sparkling wines.
Asti Week is exactly what it sounds like: a five-day toast to Asti Spumante and Moscato d’Asti DOCG. These are the feather-light, fruit-forward bubbles you might usually save for dessert—but this week they’re front and center. Every participating restaurant will greet diners with a complimentary glass of Asti Spumante (think fragrant pear, acacia and white flowers) or Moscato d’Asti (lower alcohol, peachy, lightly sweet and gently fizzy). Some spots are even slipping in cocktails for good measure.
Once you’ve sipped your welcome, the real fun starts: Each restaurant has picked a dish that pairs perfectly with these Italian sparklers. Expect everything from focaccia with buffalo milk stracciatella at Amo Seafood to sea urchin spaghetti at Palma. Osteria Brooklyn in Long Island City is serving scallops with roasted peppers and spicy mollica, while Pasta Eater is leaning into comfort with tagliatelle in a parmigiano wheel topped with crispy prosciutto. Even La Dong is proving Moscato works beyond Italy with a pomelo salad layered with shrimp, lemongrass and spicy tamarind dressing.

The lineup reads like a roll call of New York City dining favorites: Amo Seafood, Cacio e Pepe, Misirizzi, Osteria Carlina Tribeca, Osteria Brooklyn @ LIC, San Carlo Osteria Piemonte, Palma, Pasta Eater (both Flatiron and Hell’s Kitchen), Settepani, Terrone, The Leopard at des Artistes and Tarallucci e Vino UWS. Add Creston Wine Bar and La Dong to the mix and you’ve got 15 places across Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens pouring Asti for free.
Beyond the free pour (and let’s be real, that’s reason enough), Asti Week is about showing off the versatility of these wines. They’re not just for toasts and tiramisu—they shine with seafood, salty cheeses, spicy dressings and even pizza topped with figs and burrata. It’s a chance to drink like an Italian insider, no airfare required. Reservations are recommended; this is New York, after all and nothing good stays secret for long. You’ve got five days, 15 restaurants and countless bubbles. Consider your week officially booked.
