Time Out says

For over a decade, chef Emma Bengtsson has doled out her Swedish homeland's cuisine at the two Michelin-starred Aquavit. And with the arrival of the summer season’s first herring catch, a Scandinavian staple, Bengtsson is ready to celebrate.

From July 13th to July 24th, Aquavit brings back its Annual Herring Festival. Come for a three-course lunch for a veritable spread of eight fishes prepared every which way, from feta and mint to orange and fennel, complemented with gentlemen's delight puff pastry, matjes herring cake and smoked herring. The second course includes your choice of classic Swedish meatballs or, more herring(!), with the salted herring schnitzel. To round it all out, the meal ends with a summer berry tart. Can't make it in for lunch? Dinner brings the herring board, a selection of five cures straight from Bengtsson herself, accompanied by cheese, potatoes and flatbread. Of course, you can always pick and choose your favorites from the à la carte menu. Guests wishing to bring a bit of Sweden home with them can order a to-go kit of all eight flavors for $65, set to feed two.

The three-course meal is served only at lunch in the bar room, Monday to Friday, from noon to 2pm. It is priced at $88 per person. The herring board is only available in the bar room as well. To book a table or a take-home kit, find it on Tock.
